Welcome to Dakotah Hope Ministries
Research shows that suicide rates among Native Americans, especially young people, are at crisis levels: one out of every six Bureau of Indian Affairs Native American students have reported attempted suicides during a given 12-month period. Alcoholism and drug abuse on Native American reservations are reported to be at least 50% higher than elsewhere. Unemployment on reservations is more than double the national average.
Dakotah Hope Ministries was born out of the glaring need among Native Americans to have hope for the future and purpose for the present, both found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. One Native American who identifies himself as a Christian has stated that less than 4 percent of Native Americans in the United States profess to be Christian.
Dakotah Hope Ministries currently ministers on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation in the NE corner of South Dakota where we partner with Eagle’s Wing Baptist Church and other Bible believing congregations to share the Good News and love of the Heavenly Father for all His children including the Dakotah Sioux. We invite your prayers, donations, and participation in this labor for the Master. See other pages on this website for more information on our ministry and events.
